This is a question from a reader to chris dougherty certified rv technician when he was our technical editor dear chris my automatic ignition hot water heater in our motor home ignites but won t stay on. This is a new oven and the rv is only three weeks old. Don dear don this is a result of the control. I have rest it several times.

Thought it was done the first time but the oven went out while cooking. If i go out site and put my hand over the exhaust the furnace will light and run. Flickering pilot flame problem. Pilot assembly repair link to pilot assembly https smile.

It is important to note that all the other gas appliances in the camper have been tested and work great. Can hear the sparker and fan going but will not light. The pilot light lit well enough and the burner would come on but when the oven reached temperature the burner would turn off as it should but then would not come back on when the termperature fell too low since the pilot was extinguished in the meanwhile. It cooks a bit then i hear the flame popping out.

I have a suburban furnace that won t light. Suburban travel trailer rv oven burner goes out does not stay lit. It tries several times and then quits. Have been trying to cook a meat loaf for four hours.

The pilot light lights i wait for the the entire flame to come on adjust the temperature and close the door.
